Attachment to the Tunnel Segment

The shape of cast iron or steel segments (3) permits the joining together for a specific purpose of individual segments to form segment rings, which can in turn be attached to one another to create the body of the structure.
At the individual connection points or bolt fastenings any fire protection lining (1) that may be required can be attached to the cast iron or steel segments by means of suspension plates (5) in conjunction with PROMATECT®-T board strips, or alternatively sheet steel sections (2).
The values obtained in the tests on the segments are far below the critical temperatures for such elements.
