Promat®-Aqualite

Advantages

Fast setting.

Promat®-Aqualite is a fast setting, fast curing, rapid strength gain dry spray concrete. Promat®-Aqualite is a blend of cement, potable water, approved cement binders and specially selected aggregates that is resistant to chloride penetration. When used as an impervious basecoat with PROMASPRAY®-F5, the Portland cement based system will prevent any water ingress through the secondary fire resistant tunnel lining. Promat®-Aqualite is used for horizontal and vertical applications in tunnels where high early strength is required and wherever water ingress, pollution or chemical attack is likely.

Application General

Promat®-Aqualite should be applied to a minimum thickness of 10mm proud of lath or concrete.

Substrates Preparation

The substrate shall be clean and free from dust. Concrete surfaces should have surface laitence removed by Ultra High Pressure (UHP) jet washing to expose aggregate for correct adhesion.

Application Mixing

For optimum results, conventional dry spray machines should be used. The optimum water/cement ratio is 38%. Higher ratios will result in reduced strength and longer setting times. Promat®-Aqualite should be placed in the dry spray machine and transported to the nozzle by dry air where water is added. Set times may be adjusted in hot or cold weather by adding cold or hot water respectively.

Application Setting Time

Promat®-Aqualite is designed to set within 10 minutes at 20°C. Set time can be adjusted by using hot or cold water.
